RX-79[G] Gundam

The RX-79[G] Gundam is a trial production type mobile suit, manufactured in limited quantities in order to gather combat data and reinforce the Federation's frontline forces. Based on the prototype RX-78 Gundam, it's been redesigned for land warfare, and thus omits all the RX-78's space combat capabilities. Nonetheless, the RX-79[G] type remains a high-performance mobile suit capable of fighting in almost any terrestrial environment - even underwater! In addition to a variety of optional weapons, this Gundam sports a back-mounted equipment rack that can carry a cargo container or parachute pack. Of the roughly 20 units produced, 12 have been assigned to Southeast Asia's Kojima Battalion.

Mobile Cruiser Zanzibar

This new model of space cruiser has a streamlined shape which allows it to survive atmospheric re-entry, and its rockets can also function as jet engines for atmospheric flight. With the aid of a booster rocket, the Zanzibar can launch back into space to complete its round trip. This powerful warship is armed with one main gun turret, four fixed-position mega particle cannons, five anti-aircraft machine gun turrets, and a pair of large missile launchers.

Light Cruiser Musai

The Musai, the first space warship specifically designed to carry mobile suits, is the mainstay of Zeon's space fleet. It's equipped with three mega particle cannon turrets and a battery of missile launchers, and its main deck can store three Zakus. The Komusai capsule stored in the Musai's prow can be used as an atmospheric re-entry shuttle, with space for two more mobile suits. Char Aznable commands a modified Musai with a distinctive helmet-shaped bridge.

MA-08 Big Zam

This huge, two-legged mobile armor is transferred to Zeon's space fortress Solomon just before the Federation Forces launch their assault. In addition to one large and 28 small mega particle cannon, the Big Zam is outfitted with an I-field barrier that deflects all enemy beam weapons. With Space Attack Force commander Dozle Zabi at its helm, the Big Zam wreaks havoc upon the Federation's space fleet, until the Gundam defeats its protective barrier by attacking it at point-blank range.

The huge Zeong, designed exclusively for Newtype pilots, is the first mobile suit equipped with a psycommu system. Thanks to this mind-machine interface, a Newtype pilot can use the Zeong's detachable hands as remote-controlled gun turrets and attack his target from three directions at once. During the Battle of A Baoa Qu at the end of the war, Char Aznable takes the incomplete, legless Zeong into battle in a last attempt to defeat the Federation's Gundam.

MA-04X Zakrello

The Zakrello is a failed mobile armor prototype, whose speed and maneuverability were deemed inadequate for combat purposes. The gaping mouth of this peculiar-looking machine contains a powerful scattering mega particle cannon and it's also armed with eight missile launchers and a pair of sickle-shaped claws. After the destruction of the Bigro, one of Char's underlings takes off in the Zakrello in an attempt for revenge.

MAX-03 Adzam

This mobile gun platform is the predecessor to Zeon's series of huge, non-humanoid mobile armors. Its Minovsky craft system enables it to float through the air for brief periods, attacking ground targets with its eight mega particle cannon turrets and the electrical weapon known as the "Adzam leader." In Central Asia, Captain M'quve and Kycilia Zabi co-pilot the Adzam in an attempt to drive the Gundam away from one of their precious mining bases.

MAM-07 Grabro

This marine mobile armor is armed with 14 torpedo launchers and a pair of massive claws, which it can use to tear open the undersides of enemy ships. The Grabro can also take on airborne targets, lurking beneath the surface of the water and attacking with a pair of missile launchers. Zeon submarine captain Flanagan Boone uses the Grabro to attack the White Base as it crosses the Atlantic Ocean.

This experimental amphibious mobile suit could almost be characterized as a mobile gun platform. The Zock's huge body houses a battery of mega particle cannons, which can fire both forward and backward. Incapable of walking on its vestigial legs, it moves by hovering, or in jet-assisted jumps. One prototype Zock is used in Char Aznable's assault on the Federation Forces's Jaburo base.

MSM-07S Char's Z'gok

In his attacks on the Federation Forces's Jaburo headquarters, Char Aznable pilots an upgraded, higher-performance version of the amphibious Z'gok, which is powerful enough to punch through a Federation mobile suit with a single blow. As usual, the "Red Comet" gives this mobile suit his distinctive personal color scheme.

The Z'gok is the most advanced of Zeon's amphibious mobile suits. Its 360-degree mono-eye sensor and arm-mounted mega particle cannons enable it to fire in any direction. With both air- and water-cooling systems, the Z'gok can operate for long periods on land, and its rocket engines give it superb mobility even out of the water.

The Acguy is an amphibious mobile suit derived from the Gogg, which emphasizes stealth over brute power. It's often used for reconnaissance and infiltration missions, as when Char Aznable leads a team of Acguys in a guerilla attack on the Federation Forces' Jaburo headquarters. The Acguy's extendable right arm houses a mega particle cannon and a set of sharp claws, while its left arm contains a battery of rocket launchers.

The Gogg is Zeon's first mass-produced amphibious mobile suit. Like the later models in the series, it's a squat, monstrous machine with thick pressure-resistant armor and multi-segmented arms tipped with sharp claws. The water-cooled reactor housed within the Gogg's hulking torso is large enough to power a pair of built-in mega particle cannons. However, the Gogg can only operate for short periods out of the water.

The prototype mobile suit Gyan was developed, under the supervision of Captain M'quve, as a competitor to the Gelgoog. However, its lack of long-range weapons and poor space maneuverability led to the project's cancellation. Undaunted, M'quve uses one of the surviving Gyan prototypes in a cunning attack on the Gundam at the Texas colony, employing its arsenal of bombs and missiles to lure his enemy into dueling range.

MS-14S Char's Gelgoog

This is one of a handful of prototype Gelgoogs produced for testing purposes. As usual, Char Aznable has tuned it to his own specifications and given it his trademark color scheme. At the controls of this prototype Gelgoog, the famed "Red Comet" battles the Gundam at the Texas colony, and subsequently uses it to escort Lalah Sune's mobile armor Elmeth into combat.

MS-14 Gelgoog

With the Gelgoog, the Principality of Zeon at last creates a mobile suit to rival the Earth Federation's Gundam. The Gelgoog boasts high performance and sturdy armor like that of the Rick Dom, but it's also equipped with powerful beam weapons. Although it's the best mass-produced mobile suit to appear in the war, the Gelgoog arrives too late to change the course of the conflict, and due to Zeon's manpower shortage it's piloted mostly by inexperienced trainees.

MS-R09 Rick Dom

With the development of the MS-14 Gelgoog far behind schedule, the Zeon military decided to adapt the land warfare mobile suit Dom for space combat. The result is the Rick Dom, in which the jet engines that give the Dom its hovering capabilities are replaced by rockets. Otherwise, it's basically the same as the land version - a fast, heavily-armored mobile suit armed with a devastating bazooka. By the end of the war, the Rick Dom has all but replaced the Zaku II in the ranks of Zeon's space forces.

This land warfare mobile suit. is a radical improvement over the Zaku II and Gouf. While its predecessors were limited to travelling on foot or making brief rocket-assisted jumps, the jet engines in the Dom's legs turn it into a high-speed hovercraft. With its maneuverability, heavy armor, and powerful bazooka, the Dom is almost unbeatable in ground combat. When Zeon's dreaded "Black Tri-Stars" use this new model to attack the immobilized White Base, our heroes are hard-pressed to fight them off.

Anticipating the appearance of Federation mobile suits, its designers gave the Gouf a variety of melee weapons - built-in finger machine guns, a defensive shield, and an electrified whip known as a "heat rod." The Gouf also has stronger armor and higher mobility than the Zaku II, making it a formidable close-combat machine. In the hands of a master pilot like Lieutenant Ramba Ral, this sinister-looking mobile suit is capable of dueling even the mighty Gundam.
